Contemporary architecture is the next generation of style born from modernism. Modern architecture is most recognized for its clean lines and minimalist forms that allow the structure to speak for itself and take center-stage and features industrial materials such as steel, concrete, and glass… while contemporary design might use some of the same elements but uses more of today’s style, design concepts, and uses the latest forward thinking innovations in building technologies and construction. With all that being said, the two designs will always mix and mingle with one another.

The fundamentals of modern architecture are clean and simple. Its ever-present philosophy abides to the ideal that form follows function. Therefore, modern architects express themselves through simplicity, clear views of structural elements of wood, steel, and glass, and by foregoing unnecessary ornate design details.
