Mayfair Manor Highlights

Developed in 1950, Mayfair Manor is one of Ralph Haver’s first housing tracts built in Uptown Phoenix near 16th Street and Bethany Home Road, an area that has seen a beneficial amount of revitalization over the last several years. The original designs here are simpler than other Haver neighborhoods as they were precursors to design iterations in future developments. Homes are built with concrete masonry unit block construction, of which some feature a small strip of window clerestory between the exterior walls and eaves of the low sloping gable roofs.

While much of the neighborhood is intact, this is one Haver hood that has unfortunately seen a concerning amount of additions and tear downs that diminish some of the historical integrity of the original Haver architecture. The size of homes here are smaller than some of the other Haver hoods and can serve as a great starter home for mid century modern enthusiasts.
